When the sky finally darkens

I love how an approaching thunderstorm consumes my body before I see the first rain drop hit. It reminds me of humid Michigan summer nights and driving across the country with my parents and our dogs. Nebraska was always the most wicked. Michigan always the sweetest. The desert leaves before it's gone. The mountains go electric. The Third Coast is perpetually drenched. These are the things I think of when it gets cloudy in Mexico
